This past Saturday, Daniel Cormier defended his UFC Light-heavyweight Championship by defeating Anthony “Rumble” Johnson by a rear naked choke in the second round of their fight at UFC 210. But on Friday morning during the official weigh-in, there was a little controversy. Cormier weighed-in at first 1.2 pounds over the 205 pound limit. But he came back only 2 minutes later and managed to have somehow lost the 1.2 pounds and weigh-in at exactly 205.
Let’s see what Twitter had to say about that.
Looks like Cormier pulled a fast one there and got away with it, for now. Anthony Johnson’s team has announced that they will be filing a complaint. Don’t think that will make much of a difference since Cormier still had two hours to lose the weight. He could have easily lost the 1.2 pounds, came back, and made weight. I don’t believe that would have made much of a difference in the outcome of the fight.
