So Major League Baseball has been trying for a little while now to improve the pace of play of each game in order to attract more fans and to keep the current fans interested in the games. They have fooled around with a pitch clock in the Arizona Fall League and in the Minor Leagues. They have also gotten rid of the pitcher being required to throw four pitches in order to intentionally walk a batter.
Let’s see what Twitter has to say about this.
I love that this delay is happening right after manfred was on. The prophet of speeding the game of baseball up.

Can't stand replay in baseball. MLB talks about speeding the game up and then will take 5 min to review a call. Makes no sense

I don't know why there's even an argument about speeding up baseball. Just leave the game and its integrity alone.

I love that baseball and football games are 3hrs long. What's the obsession with speeding the game up?

Why is so much of the focus on "speeding up" baseball on pitching? What abt batters who have to do an entire jazz routine btwn every pitch?

I personally believe that all these ideas on how to improve the pace of play for baseball are not going to make much of a difference. And in the grand scheme of things I don't believe it is going to accomplish what they want it to. It is not going to draw more fans to the game and it is only going to piss off some of the fans that already watch baseball. If you want more fans to watch baseball then come up with ideas to make the game more exciting. And if you really want to improve the pace of play, then get rid of all these extra commercials. But we all know that is not going to happen.
