The son of former racing legend Dale Earnhardt, Dale Earnhardt Jr., has announced that he is going to retire from racing following the end of the 2017 season. After 18 seasons of racing and more than 600 races, Earnhardt Jr. finally feels it’s time to call it quits.

Let’s check Twitter’s reaction.

First Jeff Gordon, then Tony Stewart, not Dale Jr. No more waving the checkered flag as Dale Jr. now waves the white flag on racing. I guess this is a sign that there is now a changing of the guard in NASCAR.
