Marriage proposals happen a lot at Fenway Park. In fact, they happen so frequently that they have a deck that is dedicated specifically for them to take place at. They usually end up going well, the crowd cheers, and the couple lives happily ever after (I threw that last one in there. Not sure if they do or not. Hope they do). Unfortunately, the other night at Fenway there was a marriage proposal that went horribly wrong. What went wrong is that she didn’t say yes. What an awful feeling for the guy to be rejected in front of 10’s of thousands of people.
Let’s see what Twitter had to say about this proposal gone south.

Kudos to the woman who drew a line in the sand and said no to the proposal at Fenway. Let this be the beginning of the end for this.

When she rejects your marriage proposal at Fenway Park but you still have to drive home together. Awkward https://t.co/djzCSr1dGs

The scoreboard proposal at Fenway may have just gone awry. There was no hug, the camera cut away and the crowd groaned.

Feeling bad for the guy whose marriage proposal was turned down at Fenway? Don't. Don't put a girl on the spot in front of 50,000 strangers.

Fenway failed proposal aftermath. If a crowd chanted "just say yes" to me I'm saying yes 10 times out of 10. pic.twitter.com/tMB4kVBFlc

It seemed like the mood was set just right. Standing right underneath a big huge neon Budweiser sign. The crowd all cheering "Just say yes." What could possibly go wrong? If you're going to ask your girlfriend to marry you in front of thousands of people, you better be sure she'll say yes. Shame on this guy for not doing his homework.
