By now we all know that Aaron Hernandez died while serving a life sentence. But there is more to the story. Yesterday Hernandez was officially cleared of his conviction due to an old legal rule. A judge on Tuesday erased a 2013 murder conviction against former NFL star Aaron Hernandez, ruling that case law in Massachusetts has long established that defendants who die before their appeals are heard should have their convictions vacated.
Let’s see what Twitter had to say about this judge’s decision.

People who are cheering #aaronhernandez's innocence due to a technicality are sick. It's a slap in the face to the murdered victims

So technically Hernandez died an innocent man. This is just more proof on how messed up our legal system is. Old laws like this one need to be changed so that justice can be carried out. The only good thing that appears to be coming from this ruling is that Hernandez' fiancee will now be getting paid the millions of dollars the Patriots still owed Hernandez according to his contract. This is one positive from this mess because this means that Hernandez' daughter will be provided for even though she is going to grow up without her father. In the end, no one can deny, this is a very tragic story by all accounts.
