Ben Johnson makes doping jokes in new commercial. The disgraced Canadian sprinter is featured prominently in an Australian betting site’s ad for it’s new app. The slogan in the commercial for the app is that it puts “the ‘roid in Android.” Probably not the best look for an athlete that was busted for doping.
Let’s see what Twitter was saying about this.

I like the Ben Johnson Sportsbet ad: funny and entertaining. If anything, it ridicules his steroid use. No need for PC to start banning ads!

@CanadianRunning Absolutely in poor taste. The fact that Ben Johnson continues to make money off of his cheating is disgusting.

If you're offended by the Ben Johnson Sportsbet ads I pity you. Have a laugh. Its funny.

@CBCNews I can't think of another athlete who has suffered as much as much as Ben Johnson did. Leave this man alone and let him make a dollar.

Ben Johnson will earn more in 2017 due to his reputation as a doper than some of our Rio Olympians will earn from performances & sponsorship https://t.co/cis5KrRVWx

@CanadianRunning My honest opinion. I hate that I love it. By using controversy Sportsbet made a low budget commercial go viral. It's everywhere.

The Sportsbet ad is brilliant. And a tip to anyone speaking out against it, you're doing exactly what @sportsbetcomau want.

Props to Johnson here for just owning it in this commercial. Can't hate on the guy for trying to make a dollar anyway he can. Unless of course that guy is Peyton Manning.
