Sometimes sporting events can get out of hand or there is some downtime and it’s sports broadcasters jobs to come up with something during these dead air times. Well the other day, after the sixth inning of the Cincinnati Reds and Colorado Rockies game, a bird flew into the press box and play by play announcer Thom Brennaman took this opportunity during the downtime between innings to interview the bird.
Let’s see what Twitter thought of this interaction between Brennaman and a bird.

Interviewing a bird … We’ve now seen it all.

Thom Brennaman has literally been interviewing a bird that flew in the broadcast booth on live tv for 5+ minutes. #Reds

Thom Brennaman just spend 5 mins. interviewing a bird in the booth. The game really isn’t THAT bad.

If Thom Brennaman interviewing a bird that flew into the booth isn’t worthy of an Emmy then I don’t know what is. #Reds

The dove Thom Brennaman was interviewing already has a Twitter account.

This is probably the most awkward, uncomfortable, and one-sided interview since the ARod/Jeter interview on CNBC. Although I believe this one went over a hell of a lot better.
