Lebron James played poorly in game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals which resulted in the Cleveland Cavaliers picking up their first loss in the 2017 NBA Playoffs. He continued this trend in the first half of game 4. And his poor play reached its pinnacle when James shanked a wide open dunk following a beautiful outlet pass from Kevin Love. Lebron doesn’t miss many dunks. So when he does, people begin to question if there maybe something wrong with him. Well a day after game 4, we had our answer. Lebron’s teammate, Richard Jefferson, informed us that James had been battling through sickness in game 3 and halfway through game 4.
Let’s see what Twitter thought of this excuse for Lebron’s poor play and missed dunk.
LeBron James just missed what would have been a building-shaking dunk to give #Cavaliers the lead. He wanted to break the backboard with it.

That was one of the best passes I've ever seen and one of the worst missed dunks. The PA announcer had even started saying LeBron's name.

has anyone tried unplugging LeBron and plugging him back in again?

I'm worried that in the days ahead we as a nation won't fully comprehend how incredible that Kevin Love outlet was

So this is what it has come to. Kelly Olynyk is showing LeBron how to dunk.

A “bug” going around the team could explain LeBron James’ Game 3 performance. https://t.co/E8yBUmJZcs

Fortunately for Lebron his buddy, Kyrie Irving, played through a twisted ankle to score 21 points in the 3rd quarter. So Lebron could rest and miraculously recover from the sniffles and come back to score 15 points in the 4th quarter sealing the deal for the Cavs in game 4. My high school baseball coach would refer to this sickness as the 24 hour flu. Somehow guys on our team would be sick all day and miss their classes but miraculously recover when it came time for the game later that day. Sounds pretty similar to what Lebron had here.
