If it wasn’t a good sign for Colin Kaepernick when Ryan Fitzpatrick landed a job with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, then it has to be worse news for Kaepernick when the team you met with, the Seattle Seahawks, chose to bypass you and sign Austin Davis. At this point it doesn’t appear like Kaepernick will have himself a job in the NFL this upcoming season.
Let’s see what Twitter was saying about this signing by the Seahawks.
Seahawks signed QB Austin Davis...so no Colin Kaepernick there officially.

We've signed quarterback Austin Davis.

Ironically, Austin Davis last won a game in Week 9 of 2014 - against Colin Kaepernick and the 49ers.

This is who they signed instead of Colin Kaepernick.
Lifetime 13 touchdowns & 12 interceptions.
Yeah, really. https://t.co/PmTyVK47Mi

Austin Davis doesn't get talked about off the field. He can't be called a distraction. You know why? He's god awful.

i mean...is austin davis similar to russell wilson? argument was kap couldn't get a backup gig cuz he isn't like most starters.

Austin Davis got a backup job before Kaepernick..add him to this list of backups in the league..Kap is better than damn near all of them pic.twitter.com/cpitH5LNfH

I'm probably Austin Davis' biggest supporter outside of his family, and I'm just gonna sit this one out.

Pete Carroll said he thinks Colin Kaepernck can still be a starter in this league.... and then signs Austin Davis

Odd move here by the Seahawks especially after their head coach, Pete Carroll, said he thinks Kaepernick can still be a starter in the NFL. I guess Carroll forgot to mention in that statement "just not for us." The only other explanation, other than Kaepernick being blackballed, I can make for this is that Kaepernick must be asking for too much money to be a backup quarterback or that teams don't want their backup quarterback being that much of a distraction. Either way it still doesn't look good for the NFL that players with DUI's and domestic abuse have jobs but not Colin Kaepernick.
