The Toronto Maple Leafs young phenom Auston Matthews recently got some new ink. The Maple Leafs star got a tattoo of a lion wearing a crown. Pretty sweet tattoo. However there is just one problem. Matthews’ new tattoo looks a lot like the Los Angeles Kings mascot. And it appears like the LA Kings mascot took notice. Start the trade rumor mill.

I wish I had a good funny caption but Matthews is really good, I don't hate the leafs, and his tattoo looks good. Oh well pic.twitter.com/gkrYbT4gP1

I bet somewhere a lion, has a massive Auston Matthews tattoo on their arm...

He could get a tattoo on his forehead. Idc. All I want is 50 goals next season. #goleafs

I don't get all the hate for Matthews' lion tattoo. Now, if he goes and gets a "2018 Champions" Leafs tattoo, then we can get after him.

Anyone else questioning legitimacy of this Matthews tattoo? Seems out of character. Looked days old, not fresh. Parents or Lou would be 😩

Probably not the best idea to get a tattoo that resembles an opposing team's mascot. Don't think Matthews meant anything from it. Maybe he just really likes lions and wanted a cool looking tattoo of one. It's just amazing how quickly the internet and social media can start rumors these days.
