Minor League Baseball Team In Some Trouble For Their “Hourglass Appreciation Night” Promo

In today’s PC culture and the women’s equal rights movement, it’s probably not a good idea to do or say anything that might come off as sexist or objectifies women based on their appearance. Just ask POTUS Donald Trump. So it’s no surprise that when a minor league baseball team, Ogden Raptors, chose to run a promotion called “Hourglass Appreciation Night” that it would receive some not so good feedback. The premise of this promotion was to have 18 “hourglass-shaped” women, 1 per half inning, join Raptors broadcaster A.P. Harreld in the booth. Now what could go wrong with that. Well everything.

Let’s check in with Twitter on their thoughts of this minor league baseball team’s promo.

The Ogden Raptors organization has since pulled this promotional and have issued a statement apologizing for this thoughtless marketing ploy. The Raptors have also discontinued their longstanding tradition of having men dress as drag queens when they were racking the infield with drag mats. Just another repercussion because of this recent backlash.
