Jerry Remy Is Not A Fan Of Translators In Baseball

Less than a day after Mike Schmidt made some controversial comments about Philadelphia Phillies young phenom Odubel Herrera, former Boston RedSox and NESN broadcaster Jerry Remy made his own controversial comments about New York Yankees pitcher Masahiro Tanaka. During a mound visit, Remy expressed that he had an issue with Tanaka needing a translator. Remy said that he would make it illegal for translators to go to the mound and that foreign players should learn “baseball language.”

Let’s see what people thought of Remy’s comments.

Not sure why Remy would make a statement like this. Apparently Remy has forgotten about former RedSox closer Koji Uehara who needed a translator. Remy has since apologized for his comments and the RedSox released a statement that they don't condone or agree with what Remy said.
