This Is What It Looks Like When You Return Home After Winning A UFC Championship

This past Saturday at UFC 212 Max Holloway defeated Jose Aldo to unify the featherweight titles and become the undisputed UFC featherweight champion. Holloway became the second UFC champion from the state of Hawaii, the first being BJ Penn. So it was no surprise when Holloway received a hero’s welcome when he returned to his hometown of Waianae.

Let’s check in with Twitter on Holloway’s homecoming.

There are some people out there, like myself, that think this championship is disputed. Because Jose Aldo wasn't the real featherweight champion because he lost the title to Conor McGregor. Aldo was controversially given back the title after the UFC decided to strip the championship from McGregor because he is chasing after a fight against Floyd Mayweather outside of the UFC. Either way, disputed or undisputed, Holloway is currently the champion and that was a well deserved hero's welcome.
