MLB To Allow Players To Put Nicknames On Their Jerseys

For the first time in Major League Baseball history players will be allowed to put nicknames on their jerseys for one weekend. According to Yahoo! Sports, the MLB will relax its uniform policies during its first Players Weekend in August. Along with being permitted to wear nicknames, players will be allowed to make other changes to their uniforms as well. Let’s see what people are saying about this.

MLB taking a page straight out of Vince McMahon and the XFL playbook. But you have to give MLB credit. At the very least they are trying. In honor of this Players Weekend, let's look back at the classic scene from the movie 'The Sandlot' where they go through all the nicknames for Babe Ruth.
