ESPN’s Around The Horn Gets Duped By Fake Tweet About LeBron Opting Out Of Contract To Go To L.A.

The NBA off-season has officially begun and it didn’t take long for the LeBron rumors of him leaving Cleveland to form another super team with his banana boat friends out in Los Angeles. In fact yesterday ESPN’s show Around the Horn did an entire segment predicated around this subject revolving around an apparent tweet (pictured above) from Adrian Wojnarowski. The only problem was that the tweet wasn’t from Wojnarowski but from a fake Twitter account posing as Wojnarowski.

It's not everyday you see the World Wide Leader get duped by a fake Twitter account. What happened to the fact checking? You might want to reach out to Wojnarowski to confirm that the tweet was in fact from him. Your first red flag indicating that this tweet probably wasn't true was the apparent missing blue check mark. It seems like Around the Horn's host Tony Reali is taking the brunt of the heat for this mistake, but to his credit, he is owning up to it.

Taking one for the team. You got to love this move by Reali. I guess you live and you learn. Pretty sure next time there will be a little bit more fact checking involved before they run an entire segment from one single tweet.
