One-Armed Catcher Practices With The Baltimore Orioles

Luke Terry, probably not a household name, and you have probably never heard that name before but believe me now you will. If you don’t recognize the name that’s ok, but you undoubtedly have seen this video.

Yes. That is Luke Terry. Now do you recognize the name? Well it appears as if the Baltimore Orioles do. The 14-year old, whose arm was amputated as an infant, was invited to Camden Yards by the Baltimore organization after catcher Caleb Joseph saw a baseball video of Terry on the internet. After practicing with the team, Terry caught the ceremonial first pitch from Hall of Famer and Orioles legend Jim Palmer. Here is what people had to say about Terry’s trip to Camden Yards.

I’m not sure what your excuse is, but this kid getting it done out here with one arm should be a wake up call to all of us that “excuses are like bum holes, everyone has them and they stink.” Props to the Orioles organization in making this dream come true for Luke and props to Luke for showing us all that nothing in life should be able to keep us back from doing what we love. Maybe someday we will see Luke in the Big Leagues because having only one arm didn’t seem to stop this guy from pitching in the Majors.
