Tim Tebow Gets Promoted Again Even Though He Sucks At Baseball

Tim Tebow

The Tim Tebow baseball experiment has had its highs and lows thus far. From him hitting a home run in his first professional baseball at-bat. To him striking out while the bat flies about thirty rows up into the stands. Well today another chapter takes place in this journey as the New York Mets organization has decided to promote Tebow from the low-A Columbia Fireflies to St. Lucie for high-A ball. This promotion comes as a bit of a surprise since Tebow was barely hitting above the Mendoza Line and was leading the Fireflies in strikeouts. Here is what people are saying about Tebow’s promotion.

This move makes no sense on a pure baseball stance. But let's be honest. We should all know by now that this Tebow experiment had nothing to do with baseball in the first place. This is all just a publicity stunt so that the Mets organization can sell more tickets. When the dollars make sense, it makes sense. And on a pure money basis this move makes sense. As is evidence of the Fireflies selling out games this year and pretty much every other team the Fireflies have played this year has sold out tickets as well when Tebow showed up. With the Mets season pretty much being a disaster this year, it wouldn't surprise me at all if the Mets decide to call Tebow up to the majors in September when they have the expanded rosters just so that they can sell more tickets. Because at this point, Tebow is the only thing the Mets have left going for them.
