Miguel Montero Gets Kicked Off The Cubs After Attacking Jake Arrieta

Probably not the smartest move to go after the best pitcher on your team. Especially when you’re the team’s catcher. Miguel Montero made some choice comments as it pertained to Chicago Cubs star pitcher Jake Arrieta and apparently the Cubs organization didn’t appreciate it. The Cubs catcher was pretty much immediately designated for assignment after blaming Arrieta for seven stolen bases during Tuesday night’s game against the Washington Nationals. Let’s see what people are saying about Montero’s poor career choice.

Yes in baseball people steal off of the pitcher. And yes 99.99999% of the time the pitcher is to blame for when someone steals a base. That's just common knowledge. But what also is common knowledge for a catcher is to never hang your pitcher out to dry like Montero did here. Especially when you're as expendable as Montero is here. Nothing good can come out of it. Tough life lesson for Montero to learn. But look on the bright side Montero. At least Joe Maddon had the decency to not do this to you.
